The School of Modern Languages and Cultures offers a range of full Studentships (fees and maintenance at home/EU rates), fee-waivers and smaller bursaries* for postgraduate study at Nottingham. All studentships and bursaries are competitive and are awarded on academic merit.

The School runs an exciting range of postgraduate taught courses, MA by Research and PhD programmes. Studentships are available in the following fields:

· Critical Theory
· Cultural Studies
· French and Francophone Studies
· German Studies
· Spanish and Latin American Studies or Portuguese and Lusophone Studies
· Russian and Slavonic Studies

* Full fee and maintenance awards are in line with the Research Council rates (current maintenance rates for 2008-9 are £12,940 per annum for Doctoral awards and £9,040 per annum for Master's awards). Fee-waivers cover the UK/EU rate for period of study/research. Bursaries may be one-off or annual and vary in amounts from £500 - £1,500.

Postgraduate Advisory Day - Wednesday 25 February 2009

The School is holding a Postgraduate Advisory Day on Wednesday 25 February 2009 during which you will be given further details of the application process for funding and you will be able to meet the Director of Postgraduate Studies and/or your potential supervisor(s) in your future Department to discuss your own application. You will also meet postgraduate students registered in the School.
