Director of the Centre for the Study of Human Rights and Chair of SociologyDepartment of SociologyThe Department of Sociology at LSE seeks to appoint a new Chair who will assume the Directorship of the Centre for the Study of Human Rights to replace Professor Conor Gearty, who is leaving the Centre after seven successful years. Applicants should have a strong background in human rights, preferably from the discipline of Sociology, though otherwise qualified applicants from within the social sciences will be considered. The Director will provide strategic and intellectual leadership of the Centre for the Study of Human Rights and further develop its programme of teaching, research and outreach.
