MA IN THE HISTORY OF PHILOSOPHY
We have extensive expertise in all areas of the field, and can offer modules on philosophers from the Pre-Socratics to Frege, Russell and Wittgenstein. The Department has twenty-six teaching and research staff, most of whom have historical interests.

From next year our general MA in Philosophy will have a new format, and will be suitable for candidates with a Philosophy background as well as those with a background in other disciplines.
We are happy to admit suitable students from this and our other one-year Master’s degrees into our PhD programme as well as from our two-year MPhilStud programme.
