SCHOOL OF SOCIAL SCIENCES

Postdoctoral Research Fellowship (HUM/90164)

Salary: £28,839 to 30,595 per annum.

Applications are invited for the above post, based in Philosophy and funded by the Sustainable Consumption Institute (SCI).  The project will evaluate philosophical theories of practical reasoning and moral motivation, exploring their connections with related empirical research and models, with a view to gaining a better understanding of our attitudes and behaviour towards environmental sustainability.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of ethics, philosophy of psychology, or philosophy and economics, and have an ability to apply theory in ways which will have practical application. You must either have a doctorate in Philosophy, or be on track to receive one by the time of appointment. This post is available from 1 June 2009, or as soon as possible thereafter, and is full-time for one year.
