Doctoral studentship in Philosophy at the University of Sussex
The Philosophy Department at the University of Sussex is pleased to invite
applications for an AHRC funded studentship at DPhil level.
Our department is unique in the UK in terms of the range and diversity of
philosophical topics, thinkers and approaches that we teach and write
about. We provide outstanding teaching and supervision, and are keen to
hear from applicants who think they would benefit from our open-minded,
scholarly approach to traditional and contemporary philosophical problems.
Areas currently researched by faculty include: Aesthetics, Ancient
Philosophy, Epistemology, Ethics, Indian Philosophy, Metaphysics,
Phenomenology, Philosophical Logic, Philosophy of Language, Philosophy of
Mind, and Social and Political Thought.
Thinkers include: Aristotle, Adorno, Burge, Fichte, Habermas, Hegel,
Heidegger, Husserl, Kant, Kripke, Levinas, Marcuse, Marx, Plato, Sartre,
and Wittgenstein.
