The call for papers is still open for the I International Hermeneutics Conference ‘Hermeneutics – an exhausted paradigm? Text, language, world’, to be held at the Biblioteca Nacional in Buenos Aires, 6-8 May 2009.
National and international guest speakers will take part in the conference. International guests: Gianni Vattimo, Teresa Oñate (UNED), Jacinto Rivera Rosales (UNED), Víctor Samuel Rivera (Universidad Nacional Federico Villarreal - Lima, Perú). National guests: Francisco Bertelloni; Mónica Cragnolini; Claudia Hilb; Jorge Lulo; Fortunato Mallimaci, Néstor Miguez, Francisco Naishtat; Dina Picotti; Julio Pinto; Marcelo Raffin; Gabriela Rebok; Esteban Vernik; Roberto Walton.

The thematic axes of the Conference are:

  • Hermeneutics and Philosophy
  • Hermeneutics and the Social Sciences
  • Hermeneutics and Politics
  • Hermeneutics and Psychoanalysis
  • Hermeneutics and Religion
  • Hermeneutics and Aesthetics
  • Hermeneutics and Semiotics

Regulations for the presentation of papers

Papers shall not be longer than 6 pages of A4, Times New Roman typeface size 12, 1.5-line spaced. The papers shall be handed in CD or computer disk format to the roundtable moderators on the day. Individual presentations at roundtables shall not last longer than 15 minutes.

Regulations for the presentation of abstracts

The deadline for the presentation of abstracts will be 3 April 2009.
Abstracts must be sent to resumenesjornadas@proyectohermeneutica.org. They must have a maximum of 500 words, in Times New Roman typeface, size 12.

Abstracts must include:

  1. Paper title
  2. Author’s full name, postal address, email address and phone number.
  3. Thematic axis in which the paper is included. The academic committee will decide on its scientific and thematic relevance.
  4. Institutional affiliation

Research projects related to the conference theme must comply with the same regulations than papers. The personal details supplied should be those of the director(s).
