The Heinrich Heine University, Düsseldorf, seeks to fill a
Junior-Professorship (W1) for Theoretical Philosophy with a Focus in the
Philosophy of Cognition and the Philosophy of Mind
for a first period of three years and a possible prolongation of further
three years.
The position shall participate in research and teaching tasks of the
Philosophy department. Teaching relates to the BA, MA and Magister study
programs in Philosophy and should cover the area of Theoretical Philosophy
with the above-mentioned focus. Teaching experience of the candidate is
expected.
Concerning research, the candidate should be experienced in the
above-mentioned areas, and should be competent in frame theory, neuronal
nets, and their implementation. An important task of the position will be
the participation in the research group FOR 600 "Functional concepts and
frames" and in the planning of a Collaborative Research Centre which shall
continue the research group.
Formal requirements: Doctor in Philosophy with a PhD in an area of
Theoretical Philosophy which is relevant for the position to be filled.
